Resin Volume to Weight Converter
Slicers speak millilitres. Bottles and shipping speak grams. Multiply volume by specific gravity (density relative to water) to get mass.

- Mass
- 55.00g
- Grams per litre
- 1,100g/L
Calculation method
Mass in grams equals volume in millilitres times specific gravity, because 1 ml of water is 1 g. Family defaults: standard 1.10, tough 1.13, water-washable 1.15, ABS-like 1.11, castable 1.18. Volume toggles to US fluid ounces; mass toggles to ounces. The ratio (SG) is dimensionless and does not change.
Exact formula
mass_g = volume_ml × SG. Grams per litre = SG × 1000. Defaults: standard 1.10, tough 1.13, washable 1.15, ABS-like 1.11, castable 1.18. Limits: SG family defaults at room temperature; pigment and temperature shift mass. Weigh a known pour for inventory.

Supports and drain holes
Hollow prints with undrained resin are extra mass the slicer volume may miss if you did not model the trapped fluid.
Shipping vs printing
Carriers charge grams. Your cost model should use grams even when the slicer UI is millilitres.
Frequently asked questions
Is 1 kg the same as 1 litre?
Only if SG is 1.00. At 1.10 SG, 1 kg is about 909 ml.
Why is washable denser?
Many washable formulas carry extra hydrophilic components. Treat 1.15 as a midpoint, not a law.
Can I invert this for remaining bottle life?
Yes: remaining ml ≈ remaining grams / SG. Weigh the bottle minus tare.
Does temperature matter?
Warm resin is slightly less dense. For costing, family SG is close enough.
