Mixing a rigid 80D resin with a 50D flexible to land near 65D is a lever rule. The same math works for any property you are willing to treat as linear — it will not invent a datasheet.

Calculation method
This is a linear lever rule. Volume of A is total × (target − property_B) / (property_A − property_B). Volume of B is the remainder. Percents are those volumes over the total. The mix is invalid when A and B are equal (no unique blend) or when the target lies outside the range from A to B — you cannot interpolate past the endpoints. Volume toggles millilitres to US fluid ounces; the Shore-style properties do not convert.
Exact formula
vol_A = total × (target − prop_B) / (prop_A − prop_B). vol_B = total − vol_A. Invalid if A = B or the target is outside the closed interval between A and B. Limits: Linear lever rule; Shore D is often non-linear. Invalid if A = B or the target is outside the closed interval between A and B.

Stir, then rest
Incomplete mixing prints as hard/soft streaks. Degassing after a vigorous stir is why the degassing estimator exists.
Frequently asked questions
Can I mix by grams instead?
Convert each millilitre with specific gravity (volume-to-weight tool) if the two resins have different SG. This page is volume-linear.
Target equals resin A.
Then you pour 100% A. Endpoints are allowed.
Will 65D print like a 65D bottle?
Often close, not identical. Elongation and tear strength do not always blend linearly with Shore D.
Do I change exposure?
Yes. Start from a weighted exposure between the two profiles, then print a finder. Pigment load is not in this formula.
